Fiona's paintings capture the vibrancy and colour of the desert landscape. The ridges of sandhills typical of the desert country around Fregon, make reference to her mother's work of Tali -sand-hills. The small, rounded shapes reflect the habitat of shrubs, trees and bushes These grow on the sides and at the base of the sand-hill where the water collects They provide a valuable source of many food bearing grasses and shrubs. Fiona Pompey is from Fregon on the APY Lands. She works from the Kaltjiti Arts Centre and is the daughter of well known artist, Tali Tali Pompey (dec).
