BIOGRAPHY
Sheena grew up on her family’s homeland of Sandy Bore around Mimili community. Daughter to senior Pitjantjatjara Elders Sammy and Ngilan Dodd, Sheena was brought up with strong roots in her traditional culture. Sheena’s family only recently moved to Mimili community from their traditional homelands, where she still spends most weekends. With her family being deeply involved in land management, Sheena holds deep knowledge about her country, and all the creatures, plants, rocks and spirits, held within.
Sheena was a basketweaver for many years before becoming a painter. Today, she is best known for her quirky depictions of tjulpu (birds).
