Beverley Cameron 106-23KA, Kaltjiti Arts, acrylic on linen, 102 x 153 cm

Beverley depicts the story of two sisters from the country of Watarru in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands in South Australia. This is a story passed on to Rosemary from her grandmother. In this story there are two sisters, the younger sister is pregnant, and the older sister is looking after her, hunting for bush tucker to feed her. Both sisters are painted in traditional designs, the younger sister has her belly painted and the older sister has her breasts painted. When the husband of the younger sister come looking for her, they both hide in a rockhole, the older sister helping the younger sister to hide. The husband climbs up on some rocks and looks around but despite his efforts he cannot find her.
